5. Smurfs: The Lost Village, April 7th
What it’s about: When Smurfette learns there might be more Smurfs out there in the world, she leads an expedition to find them before Gargamel does.
Why your kid will want to see it: If they thought the first two films were smurftastic, they’ll want to see this one too.
Why you might want to see it: This franchise reboot is entirely animated and doesn’t venture into our world, so it’ll feel a lot more like the cartoon we loved as kids.
6.Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, June 2nd
What it’s about: A couple fourth graders hypnotize their mean high school principal and turn him into their comic book creation, Captain Underpants.
Why your kid will want to see it: Your kid has read any of the 70 million copies of these books sold worldwide.
Why you might want to see it: Ed Helms voices the principal while Kristen Schaal, Kevin Hart and Jordan Peele voice other characters.
