Almost all of us will struggle to find words when someone we love tells us that they’ve just been diagnosed with cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s or another equally serious and life-threatening illness. When we uncomfortable and eager to say something, we tend to reach for “I totally understand”.

An artist, Emily McDowell, was diagnosed with cancer at only 24 years old and endured chemo and radiation before going into remission. She is now 38 and cancer free and has designed a line of unique greeting cards to give to people facing similar situations. She has attempted to give people an easy way to express better emotions through greeting cards.
